The greatest number of children officially recorded to one woman is 69. Mrs. Feodor Vassilyev (born 1707 in Shuya, Russia) gave birth to:
-16 pairs of twins;
- 7 sets of triplets; and
- 4 sets of quads
(the greatest number of multiple births in one family). :beer:0 -
Ooooohhh your friend she has lots of fun in store. I sailed through my twin pregnancy with no problem at all and our boys are just perfect, it's so much fun being a twin mummy, it's the best:)
My best advice for her, although no financial, is to be organised.... get ready for tomorrow today. I still prepare all the boys clothes for the next day when the boys have gone to bed and they are three and a half now but it definately works for us.

They may be entitled to some help ask the health visitor, I seem to remember being offered some when I had my third as I had 3 under 4 (I think the cut off was 3 under 5) I didn't take them up on it, but it may be something your friend wishes to consider0

Well there is a lady on the pregnancy thread expecting twins!
Anyone having twins now will be facing the same dilemmas so it's still a useful thread. I'm a mum of twins too and have seen some sensible advice here.
My own would be: Don't be afraid to call in nanny to babysit once in a while. Twins are great (I actually had 3 under 2 at one point) but it can be very overwhelming, so always make time for yourself if you're lucky enough to have local familyMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Im a dad of twin girls that are two and a harf years old.
For anyone who is due a set of twins soon then your days will be full of fun and joy. But it is allso very hard work.
Mine have there own mind now and getting them to do somthing that they dont fancy doing can be very stressfull. They tend to gang up on you and one will go one way and the other the other way.
But its grate fun and well worth it all.:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
i have identical twin boys who are lovely but such hard work, as both have special needs.
i breastfed them both when they were tiny, walked everywhere pushing the double buggy, had no car in those days, and my mum helped out loads, buying the expensive clothes like shoes and coats.loves to knit and crochet for others0 -
My non-id twin boys are now 18 months old.
Have twins can be easier than you think - we have found that.
Breastfed during day, bottle at night = lots of sleep. Lots of calories burnt up.
Walking up our very big hill with double pram meant I weigh a stone less than before being pregnant.
Personally, I didn't find Tamba useful until boys started walking and needed shoes (discount at Clarks, very MSE!).
Would want to try again for another baby...just don't know if I can run the risk of two sets of twins ;-/Proud mother of twin boys - double the trouble and twice the pleasure! :T0
