Disputing 'Contravening a Red Light' offence

in Credit cards
Hi,
Amidst a moment’s lack of concentration, I recently went through a red light. Never broken the law in any context before and I know some of you will think I deserve my fine and points etc (even though it was accidental and a late changing light).
However, I have received the NIP and it says Contravening a 'Road' light NOT Contravening a 'Red' Light. Is this an administrative error that may invalidate the NIP? Anyone more clued up on how the actual offence should appear?

As you admit to committing the offence, why would you try to get out of paying the penalty?0

And this has what to do with credit cards?I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0

A "red" light is still a "road" light.
How the hell do you think you can get out off this on a typo?
They clearly have you on evidence so how can it be invalid?
Pay up.0 -
It is often thought that a typo or minor error on a legal document can invalidate whatever it is supposed to be.
In fact this is very rare. It is seen as an injustice (and potentially a waste of court time) if people "get off" or stuff has to be done again.0 -

Yes, a perfectly valid question (albeit in the wrong forum). Nothing about encouraging people to break the law or do anything dishonest. The question was simple and reasonable IMHO. If the paperwork is not valid then no need to pay.0
