Yesterday I had 12 silent calls I did 1471 each time and the number was 025673445 (which is a unrecognised number so I can't call it back). At 9:00 this morning they started again. I am registered at TPS so don't know how to stop them as I can't find out who is phoning any advice !!!!!!

Some information here http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/025673445. You are not alone!0

its a robot logger.
It will log the times you answer the phone and those you dont for a few days.
the information is then sold to telesales companies who know that you have a history of answering the phone at that time so they can target calls.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Thanks So looks like not a lot can be done !!! I'll ring Virgin and see if I can get it blocked.
Most tele-sales calls seem to come from overseas so the TPS is a waste of time0 -
What they do is give you the silent treatment then play a fake dial tone down the phone, its fake, they are still paying the bill, play them some music, keep them connected and make them pay for it !Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. It seems as all these silent calls and sales calls come from overseas there is not a lot you can do unless you want to pay to have your calls blocked or screened . I have not found any way to have it done free.
Today I had 4 calls from some Indian sounding gent who I could barely understand saying my 3G mobile network was changing (a lie) but will not take not intrested and keeps on and on, so the best think to do is just put the phone down straight away0 -
I just ask the Asian voice in my best Scottish if they can speak Gaelic. It usually fools them and they put the phone down and never have any return calls. Did this for a few weeks and the calls have all but stopped.0

If these are to a mobile phone, why can't you just block the number? I have a very cheap, £10, Samsung phone and it blocks numbers perfectly easily, and free.
Perhaps it's not so easy on a sophisticated phone?0 -
Is there anyway of blocking numbers that call my virgin landline?
Also, when you talk about the call logging, will it look like I've answered because my answering machine picks up the calls? Maybe Im getting more and more calls because it looks like I answer them all??
so please press my :T thanks :Tbutton x
