Hello,
As part of my investment portfolio,I have £75,000 in the above bond. I would like to ask whether any investments above £85,000 would be safe with the Pru or any Insurance company? I understand that this is the maximum 'safe' limit for funds invested in a bank savings account.
Or, should I consider a bond with another reputable company to spread my risk further?
I consider myself to be a cautious investor.
Thank you

The prudential investment bond is not a deposit account. So, it does not get deposit protection under the FSCS scheme. It is however, an investment in life assurance funds.
For advice point of view (i.e. complaint about advice) then you are protected up to £50,000 under the investments FSCS scheme. If its about Pru failing and the underlying assets not providing any value then you are protected under the insurance FSCS scheme with 90% of the claim with no upper limit.Or, should I consider a bond with another reputable company to spread my risk further?
Pru is just about the only viable WP going.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Thank you dunstonh
I feel that I would like to add to this bond and so will contact the Pru with a view to adding a further £10,000.0
