Best place to get a Student Credit Card (and build a credit rating?)

Hey

I'm 20, a full-time student with a pretty decent part-time job. I've been with HSBC since I was 13, but they've just rejected my application for a credit card. I don't actually want one to use, I rarely use my overdraft, but one day I'm gonna want a mortgage and it's not gonna happen.

Where am I likely to be accepted? I have no marks against me, but aside from my student loan I've never borrowed money before.

Or is there some other way i should be building a credit rating?

Thanks!

Any credit agreement will build your credit rating it doesn't have to be a credit card or loan. However there are other factors which determine what kind of risk you are such as if your on the electrol role at your address and for how long, disposible income afetr bills, past credit history etc.

If you read the guides on this site about how credit applications work you will be in a better position to understand if you will be rejected or not.
