Claiming charges from a sole trader account

I am starting on the process of claiming back charges on bank accounts I have with the natwest bank. One of them is me t/a mybusiness, where I am charged for every transaction whether it be payments in, payments out, cheques etc. Do these count for claiming or not?

No, these are charges you agreed to when you opened your business bank account!
If you want free business banking, you could switch to Abbey... but you might not get as good service from them as you do from your current business banking provider. Swings & roundabouts...0 -
But then the unauthorised overdraft fees, rejected DD fees, bounces cheque fees were all agreed too when the accounts were opened. The principle of claiming back bank charges is based on the fact that it's cheaper for the bank to pay up rather than defend a nuisance law suit, rather than any legal merit. Therefore feel free to threaten to sue the bank and see what happens.0

I wonder what your reaction would be when your clients demand repayment of the agreed fees you charged them for the work you did in you T/A business.0

I'm no legal expert, but I understood that the EU regulation that all these bank reclaims are based upon protects consumers only?
I think the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Directive defines a consumer as someone not acting in a business capacity. Any account which has 'trading as' would likely be deemed to be a business account. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
