Migrating to a good digital camera

Another vote for the Panasonic FZ150 I have the cheaper FZ47 and get great landscapes and "arty" pics of trees etc.
Go to a decent camera shop and handle it and a few other similar cameras before making your choice.0 -
If you feel you want a DSLR I would buy a DSLR. I have owned several digital cameras ranging from basic point and shoot to bridge type cameras and a DSLR. I now own Nikon DSLR (the only camera I have been completely satisfied with) and a Panasonic compact, I bought to use on the occasions I find the DSLR to bulky. Although both cameras are capable of good results I find using the DSLR to be a much more pleasurable experience.0
