I posted mine back to the DVLA and it was returned in about 10 days.

Not quite the same because there was no photo change involved, but I did mine online for an address change last Thursday, and the new one was here on Monday!

Hubby's photo was done at the Post Office and sent by them on the Saturday and the new licence was back on the Thursday.

It depends, when I did mine they wrote to me asking about my disabilities (if there were any changes to report and reminding me I must update them if there is ASAP), it might be the same for you, when did you first tell them about your disabilities?

I have a licence for an auto with hand controls only, I have no other restrictions and my licence is to 70 like everyone elses.

I have to say that, despite all the horror stories I'd heard about the DVLA, my new photocard licence was returned very quickly.

Whilst I had to do this particular transaction online, to use my passport photograph, I would recommend, whenever possible, to make use of your local Post Office. Use it or lose it.
