Capital One - a bit disturbing emails

I got 2 emails from Capital One.
One saying "Thank you for calling us to register your card for online banking". The other one sending my temporary password for online banking.
What the hell? I haven't received my card yet!
Thoughts?

I had exactly the same, so I rang them to query it, thinking someone may have got hold of my card. Capital one said it was a standard e mail that they send to you if you said during application that you want Internet banking!0

I had the same emails too. Although I probably should have queried it, I just assumed it was due to me asking for online account access when applying for the card. Also, as the temporary password came through to my email address (thus enabling me to log in and change to my own), I wasn't too worried.
Take the point though, they weren't particularly well worded emails!
Have you already received your PIN? Mine came through the post the day before the emails arrived.

Cheers guys. I contacted Capital One this morning and they said they activated online banking to some customers automatically.
I agree, I didn't like wording of those emails as it seemed like somebody else used my card to activate online banking. My heart rate went up after reading them haha
I've got my PIN, still waiting for the card.0 -
Same happened to me a few months back - My online account was set up 5 days before i got my pin and 10 days before i got my card!:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

I applied for a Capital One Progress last Monday and still haven't heard a jot... that's a bit more than 5 days!
They also gave me a sixteen digit reference number when I signed up... I should ring them

I applied for a Captial One Classic card (to improve credit rating faster) on the 17th (3 days before you), got my acceptance letter on Monday 20th! So I would ring up and ask how its getting on, what did the application say after you submitted it?

Today when I contacted Capital One I was told that from the day you get your PIN it may take 7-10 days to get the card. I'm in no hurry but I will feel better when the card safely arrives. I don't trust Royal Mail very much.0 -

I am in no rush to get it, was just to improve my credit score faster, my first credit card (Halifax) will do for now, its mainstream card anyway (17.9% APR) and had 15 months 0% on purchases!
Guess I had a good score with them when I applied as I didn't expect to get it.Money: Current Account: £85.24 | Cash ISA: £5300.00 | Online Saver: £2700.00* | Total Cash: £8085.24
