  • Thanks keepcalm i did not realise that! oh well i have agreed to a plan so i wont worry about the letter then
  • Oh dear. You're with Santander, consistently voted worst for customer service, and we can see why as their staff are obviously totally ignorant. You do need to stop accepting these answers and to keep asking to speak to more senior officers until (hopefully) you reach someone who knows what they are doing.
  • Well i have woken up this morning only to find they have allowed a payment of £70 to go through causing me to go back overdrawn so now i cant close the account....yet again!!!!! I just dont know what to do now its really starting to get me down. Can anyone please advise?? i feel like im running in circles here
  • Just got off the phone with the bank i have stopped the card and was told because the recent payments "pending" i cant do anything about it till it shows on my account on monday!!!!!!!!! I stated that i have told them on 3 seperate occasions i had withdrawn my permisiion for any money to be taken b that company and the company has been informed i have withdrawn the right to continuous payments only to be told "im not going to fob you off i could but i won't,you cant do that irrespective of what you may think you've been informed its simply not the case" GRRRRRRRR

Sorry OP can't help with the bank but I do know Lending Stream will come to an arrangement at a good rate. You don't have to close this account though to open another one. If your wages are going somewhere else then let the PDL's bounce (dispute the charges later as unfair as you requested they don't go out). All the PD Companies will be on to you pretty quick once they don't get their money so don't worry about contacting them. In fact some won't enter into an agreement until you have defaulted. Use your new bank account for everything else but I would suggest you set up standing orders for payments for PDL's not debit card or DD or they could clear out your new account. Hope some of this helps.
If you overdraft is sufficient to let the PDL's go through then remove the overdraft limit to the £70 you are at now.
  • Thanks Fergie, do you have a contact for lending stream other than the one on their site? no one ever seems to reply to the emails i send them. I'm a bit wary about letting the PDL's come out of the account as the bank are refusing to comply so i'd probably end up getting nothing reimbursed anyway at least the other way if the accounts closed the OD cant get racked up again its just adding to my debt really! After todays phone call my card has been stopped anyway so im not sure if that will help or hinder i suppose i will find out in time.

I hadnt thought about the defaulting first thing i guess you are right as it does make sense they will no doubt be straight on the phone as soon as ive missed a payment and then i can discuss the reypayment plan.

I can't really help with the bank O/D situation but I think you'll be ok with the account now stopped or blocked, but want to say don't talk on the phone to any PDL - you leave yourself in such a weak position at a later stage especially if it doesn't get backed up properly in writing

Purplerain, have you tried emailing hotline @ lending stream . co . uk or info @ lending stream . co . uk (last email addresses used when I was in contact with them the lender is who you have asked about in your latest post because it won't let me put proper addy in!!!) or can you try talking to them via a social networking site like facebook (or even message via this way) which while it is public your messages could be printed and used in evidence of at least trying to make contact

Don't give in but the most uncanny ways of contact can sometimes help! ; ) well that is what I found so just handing on what I tried
  • Thanks Keepcalm,

I have emailed payments @ LS several times and the payment contact email they have and i just never get any reply from either however they have emailed me today saying "get a top up on your existing loan" lol ironic really isnt it!

I will try the two you suggested and keep trawling online to see if i can find anyother links for now,i agree phonecalls are not the best way to go i have emailed everyone else i just tried lending streams number out of desperation really.

I am just going to try and stay calm about it all instead of getting myself stressed out as at the end of the day im doing all i can to rectify this so theres no point in beating myself up anymore than i have done.

Unbelievably useless. Make an official complaint and see it through. Hopefully someone who knows what they are doing will put it right before it has to go to the Banking Ombudsman. You need all money refunded to you that they have handed over in unauthorised payments. Open an account somewhere better if not already done.
  • Hi Fa,

I phoned the bank this morning regarding the reimbursement of the money the allowed to go through last week as i had to wait for it to be showing on my account which it was, only to be told i have to wait 30 days to give the company chance to resolve/dispute my statement that i have withdrawn permission for continious payments.

Its absolutely ridiculous! The advisor even had the nerve to point ut im O/D I told her i would be that considering they were allowing payments through when i specifically requested them not to.

I also enquired if i reduce the OD limit would that make any difference in eg declining further payments due to insufficient funds (so i then default and can hopefully come to some kind of payment plan) She seemed extremley vague and said yeah it should do....Thats not really a help!

its extremley frustrating i just want to set up a re payment plan i can afford without getting deeper into mess due to the bank allowing these payments to go through and 30 days per company to wait before i can "try" and dispute it is absolutely stupid!:(
