I haven't seen it mentioned so far, sorry if I've missed it, but when my BP was found to be high, a colleague who has very low BP said I should cut out caffeine in all forms, as well as salt. So I'm now on decaffeinated tea and coffee and (sniff!) NO CHOCOLATE! I've discovered Redbush Tea which is caffeine free and supposed to help lower BP, and I find it far more palatable than Green Tea which is also supposed to be good for lowering BP.
I think it is helping: I was panicked into taking medication for a while but am currently not taking anything and monitoring what my readings are really, and they are not as high as they used to be.
And if anyone has any good, easy, healthy sauce recipes which don't start with tinned tomatoes I'd love to have a few!
BTW there is a thread about Blood Pressure over on the Health Board. I don't know if the OP or any of the rest of you would find any of it helpful.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Many thanks. I'm watching what I eat and I'm monitoring my BP twice a day. I'll see how it goes.0
