Hi
My sister is having problems with Halifax Insurance.
Basically her boiler does not work which is covered by her insurance policy with the Halifax however she is not having much luck with the company which Halifax use. The company that Halifax used visited her home twice. First time to see what the problem was and the second trying to fix it however the company changed the board of the boiler and the issue still exists which she has informed both Halifax and the company which it employs.
She has phoned numerous times to get someone to look at it and has not had much luck with them. My sister has got a 9 month old child and this issue has been gone on for 3 weeks is there any thing she can do? She's really worried for the little one considering how cold some days are. Can she get compensated by reporting Halifax to the FSA? Or any other ways so that they will look at it and get compensated for the stress caused.
Any advise is much appreciated
Thanks

She can only escalate a complaint to the FOS (the ombudsman empowered by the FSA) once Halifax has given a final response to the complaint.
The FOS are not quick in resolving complaints (think weeks or months rather than days) so really she should be pursuing it through the Halifax rather than thinking of passing it to the FOS given that time is an issue. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
