My solicitor is asking me to forward a copy of the valuation done by the lender (nationwide). I had my own homebuyer report done which my solicitor have. I asked my broker L&C who we're suprised and said its not a normal request.
They are sending one out but I've been adviced to ask for a copy a well. Does this all sound normal?? Thanks.

The valuation is not yours to send. It was arranged by, and for, the lender (Nationwide), so if the solicitor wants it, that is who he should ask.
Is he a solicitor, or a call centre worker in a 'conveyancing office'? Online?
However, since you've arranged for the valuation to be sent, you've solved the problem.
Getting a copy yourself foryour own information might be useful if you wish.0 -
He is a solicitor but yes, he is an "online" type of effort.0

I don't know why the lender doesn't simply send a copy to the solicitor with their copy of the offer.
I've been asked countless times by solicitors for a copy of the valuation and I have to contact the lender to get one sent to them, as intermediaries aren't provided with a copy, unless we ask nicely.I am a mortgage broker. There are some lenders who inexplicably seem unable to send a copy to us but tell us to get a copy from our client even though as TimmyT says we do need to see it. When we ask why they can't send a copy to us we get jobsworth like answers.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -
Well Nationwide are refusing to send it to me or my solicitor, they offered the morgage on condition of the lease being extended. This is why my solicitor needs a copy of it. Any other ideas?0

The solicitor needs to contact Nationwide and tell them he's unable to follow their instructions without a copy of the valuer's report. He is acting for them, as well as you.I am a mortgage broker.
