Hi all, its been 2 years since I last posted about my PPI with DFS. Having had medical problems and a home modernisation last year have decided to carry on with the claim. As I took all documents to the relavent store they photocopied them and said I would here back soon. Alas 2 yrs later nothing!! I have emailed DFS head office last night and they have received my complaint and will investigate the issue and I will here within 8 weeks.
The thing is do I have to wait the whole 8 weeks? As I have already filled in forms and got DFS to copy my original docs.
I thought it was a 40 days timeline for replies or is that for another issue.
any comments welcome.0 -

Your reasons for not chasing up the complaint do not sound very compelling either.
There is nothing you can do to "hurry" them, and I wouldn't be confident of a favourable outcome.
You'll also have problems if you want to refer to FOS since you only have six months from the date of your original complaint.0 -
Make sure that she has it in writing from the claims co that she does not want the claims co to continue, if you go ahead with the claims and win, the claims co will want their fee.
You need to find out first, how far they got with the claim before you do anything, when you know where the claim is at, post back and we will help you.
The company working on her behalf didnt actualy get anywhere with the claims as they sent a number of letters asking my mother to sign the forms which she didnt do as she was weary of what she was actually signing for.(she can be quite hard work like that) the final letter she recived said as we havent had any reply from you for some time now, we will no longer be acting on your behalf.
Any help will be greatly apreciated.0 -

Received my letter from Nationwide about my loan PPI. I'm a bit confused by it but I don't think I'm going to argue.
For my original loan (£1000) they have said that because I was solely responsible that I would've considered taking out ppi and despite being paid for sickness had I made a claim I would've paid my loan off! Also they were under no obligation to assess my suitability for the policy..... however they will offer a gesture of goodwill based on the fact that half way through the policy I became an agency working.
They are offering £49.39 + £45.45 (interest) - £9.09 (tax)
For the second loan (£2000) they have agreed with my complain (assuming this is because I was an agency worker at the time).
They are offering £73.64 + £61.74 (interest) - £12.34 (tax).
Now what I'm confused about is that with my 1st one this would've been at the same time as my credit card. my credit card complaint was upheld so how come my loan one isnt.
However, looking at the amounts of the bigger loan, I'm not sure whether it's worth taking it further.

After reading up on all the information on reclaiming mortgage PPI I did not think we were in with much of a chance, but after successful loan PPI claims I thought it was worth a try. The main reason I gave was the property was shared ownership and we would have had the opportunity to sell back to the housing association if unable to pay. Also the fact we were not aware of a 3 month wait before claiming, until my partner was made redundant and tried to claim, (he was back in employment within 3 months).
10 weeks or so later a nice refund from HSBC for about £2500 making total PPI money back of nearly £10,000. :-)
Just one more to maybe try, but car finance PPI sold through a dealership which is no longer there - think that might be too hard!!0 -

MPPI has more to do with the distribution method. Broker/advised sales have a very low chance of success. Bank sales tend to have better odds. Some banks are still auto paying out on sub £3000 refunds without even investigating them.
Nothing you have said indicates any wrongdoing. However, the speed and amount along with it being a bank suggests it may have been an auto-payout.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hi all, jst an update on my PPI claim of 2 yrs ago. I sent an email directly to DFS head office and received a letter shortly afterwards sayi g. " I am happy to confirm that by way of our final response we are happy to offer to refund the PPI payments you have paid and also include the 8% interest." RESULT !!!
I just need to send in a statement/proof of payments from the finance company which I already have.
They say I will receive a cheque within 7-10 workin days as soon as they receive the proof of payments.
Thanx again everyone on this thread. Also Moneyineptitude who thought I may have had difficulty in making my claim. just goes to show you nevet know until you try.0
