There is nothing cruel about what i say, they know full well it is the wrong thing to do yet they still choose to do it.

Theres no point heaping sympathy on them and telling them it wasnt their fault as this will just let the cycle continue.

I am not heaping sympathy on them at all, I am just stating my beliefs. The british education system favours children from affulent areas.. Children from poorer areas (generally) go to schools in poorer areas (their catchment schools) and those schools are generally not doing as well as schools in affulent areas due to lack of parental interest in their childs education/lack on money for extra curricular activities (parents don't want to/dont have the money to pay)/lack of willingness to learn as child has no positive role models who work (no reason to learn?!)/worse behaviour on average which means more teaching time is spent on things it shouldn't be..
The odds are stacked against some of these children from the ages of four and five... its hardly rocket science how some of them give up and cave in to what they believe is the 'easier option'

I know the odds are stacked against them from a very young age, its usually because they come from a 5hitty background with no parental guidance.

The reason there is no parental guidance is because the parents dont know how to be parents, because they also had the same upbringing.

The easier option needs to be removed completely.

Yes it is good news and I'm sure the Daily Wail will report it tomorrow.

My home county of Dorset allegedly used to be the teen pregnancy capital of Europe. Now what are we supposed to be famous for, eh?

    The rude man,
Dorset blue vinney and dorset knobs.
    Doreset apple cake.

Yes I agree the easier option needs to be removed - but at the same time, there needs to be something there for people that genuinely fall under hard times.
It is quite hard to judge who actually purposely fell pregnant for house/money, and who genuinely had an accident and landed up pregnant, at no fault of their own.
What sort of benefit system to you think we need to sort this out? There is no answer IMO, nothing is going to work 100%. I survive off £120.50 child tax credit + £81.20 child benefit a month - that is our 'disposable income' -- is that too much? How much do you deem to be enough to survive? Because the money that lands in my bank account goes on buying 2nd hand clothes and shoes off ebay/stuff in tesco/asda clothing sale/car insurance, tax, MOT costs, as well as being able to take my son swimming, to surestart activities, on days out, to soft play, phone contract (£10, dont worry I don't have an iphone) and food essentials etc. I try and make extra money through ebay/surveys and through tcb/quidco. The only time I ever treat myself is when I have birthday/xmas money or I have 'earnt' the money, and even then, cannot justify something without it being on offer.
I think you fail to see we live in a capitalist society.... there would be outcry if suddenly the catchments for schools change to allow intergration between classes.. bcos rich people don't want the 'poor people' ruining their childrens education. The facts are all out there... the system really lets poor people down, and favours richer children from affulent families. Its really sad and something needs to be done about it.

    I think it might be.

    Here's the address you'll need.

    NASA Headquarters
    300 E Street SW
    Washington DC 20024-3210

There's a whole world outside your estate - go for it!
  • Are you completley deluded? Council houses arent 'free'
You pay reduced rent (around 1/2 of the market price)

I think the point was being made that unemployed single mums don't pay any rent - the taxpayer does.

I know about how the poor people get treated, i know the government couldnt give a 5hit about the people at the lower end of the scale.

I know all this but i dont feel much sympathy for the girls who choose this as a way of life. I do feel a lot of anger towards the government for encouraging it.

Im not worried about wether you have got an iphone or not either.

Have i labelled you a lazy single mother at some point ?

How do the goverment encourage it? I only personally know one single unemployed Mum with a council flat..she has no cooker/proper flooring, and struggles to pay for heating etc - how has the goverment encouraged her to live that lifestyle...who would want to live that lifestyle? Its bleak and depressing :(
No you haven't labelled me personallly I know, but your first post was pretty offensive to any teen mum hense why I commented.
