Contents Insurance for Rented House

Hi guys, I've just moved into my first house with my partner last Friday, we are renting privately and want to sort out some contents insurance. Where is the best place to look? I know there is a lot of reading the small print involved in this sort of thing. I bank with Halifax and got a quote from them today of £15.22 a month / £182.64 a year but then did a quick quote on moneysupermarket.com and Swinton came top at just over £60 a year! Both with an excess of £100. I'm wary because obviously if I'm going to pay for it I want to make sure if something did happen that I would be able to make a claim and not be stuck with a company that won't pay out. Please help!

I insured the contents of my first floor flat with More Than as they would cover me for £75K - can't remember what I paid, I didnt make a claim either so it was more peace of mind than anything else.
Remember to use a cashback site such as Topcashback or Quidco and get somee money back on that insurance.
I will be moving soon so will need buildings and contents cover.0 -
I paid around £60 for a bog standard policy. I found it useful to add things like accident cover and insurance when away from home so my bike and mobile phone were covered. Even then the price was about £110. That was through the AA - but they are just a broker really and the policy was via AXA I think.0
