Have won a fab prize but not getting what I should have done? any advice

Hi thanks to jambodaveprince I was very luck to win a hand made to order leather jacket from INSTYLE made by Sara Berman. Now this prize was worth around £450 and the promoters called to get my measurements, I was so excited as this is something I would never have if it were not for this fab forum and its posters. Then they emailed to say there was a delay in getting the fabric so they were sending a handbag instead. I was disappointed but although I said I would be happy to wait for the fabric they said they could not guarantee how long it would take so I had no choice..Now four weeks later they have finally told me I will be receiving a bag in the next two weeks, value of just over £100. Please do not think I am ungrateful because any win is fab but is this fair? I cannot look at terms as the comp page has gone but just wondered if anyone had any thoughts.

not on i'd say if you dont get what you won you should defo get suitable prize to the equivalent
& I am sure you will if you fight it just phone or email back & say you have spoken with relevant bodies
(some peeps on here will know better)
can you go back to initial t&c's to see what it says?

Maybe worth checking some of their current competition T&C's and see if they are all very similar - you might get a bit of an idea from those..if they mention about if a prize is not available they will offer something of similar value etc - I know it won't guarantee that those would have been the same terms as for your comp but companies seem to generally have similar T&C's for comps they run. Just an thought..
