Claims Direct (and similar companies) can deal with claims that relate to accidents and injuries overseas - however they are there for claiming for things which were not your fault. By your own admission, you personally sprayed an unknown substance on to yourself and your partner. I am assuming you didn't read details of what it was, what it contained, or potential side effects? I am not sure how the injuries can be attributable to anyone other than yourself.

If you want to know if they will take on your claim then call them and ask them, but I would be surprised if they do.

The incident happened in Thailand with no connection to the UK (i.e. you weren't in a hotel contracted by your tour operator) so you have no chance of bringing a compensation claim in the UK against the Thai bar. If you wanted to claim compensation you'd probably need an expert on Thai law, who would be capable and willing to issue a claim in their courts (assuming their law allows such a thing). Whether Claims Direct have the knowledge to put you in contact with someone with this knowledge I wouldn't know but I think its only fair to warn you that you have a far from straightforward case and your chances of any compensation may be minimal.

  • Thanks for your responses, I thought it would be highly unlikely that we would have a claim but thought I would ask for advice. I will just put it down to bad luck.

    Thanks again.
  • Compensation for what :/

You burned yourselves by spraying random stuff on your bodies - your own carelessness, not sure how you can expect to gain from injuries caused by your own fault.
