Need a new tv and don't really use my credit cards very often but find when I do it's for something big so last week I decided to apply for the tesco clubcard credit card and the nectar credit card.
Cancelled all but one of my other cards, my intention now is to buy the tv from amazon via nectar website to gain points, I will put the purchase onto the nectar cc, to gain more points plus the additional 5000 points as a new account, I will then transfer the balance to my clubcard cc and make the most of the 9 months 0% on balance transfers........ Result!!! :)

5000 Nectar points are only worth £25.

you will end up paying more in the % balance transfer fees (2/3% whatever it is for TescoCC)...

I would put it straight onto the Tesco CC.

You can still get some nectar points, just logon to Nectar.com and click on amazon.co.uk there.

I'm assuming you've calculated the balance transfer fee to be less than the value of all the nectar points?

  • Thanks, but the purchase is only £500 so figured it would still be worth it... think I still end up about £12 up.
