Turkey or Sharm at easter?

Desperately need a holiday - just found I need an operation and want something to take my mind off it.

We'd prefer somewhere warm to hot and figured on Turkey or Sharm.

Can anyone pleasee recommend a decent All Inclusive hotel in Sharm suitable for children 12 and 10 wth decent pools and slides if pos?

We like a good standard of food and accomodation as well so probably looking at a 5* resort.

Thanks

have stayed at 5* reef oasis blue bay and spa in sharm. 24 hour all inclusive, private beach, numerous pools, we couldnt fault it.

Weather wise it has to be Sharm, BUT alot of the 5* hotels aren't actually 5*, so do your research (trip advisor)
You might have a problem finding a 5* hotel that has slides, that also has great food (it seems like they think, familys dont mind ok food, whereas couples want nice food).
We stayed at Stella di mare which was amazing, but didnt have slides, food was fantastic though.

Turkey has the hotels with funfairs, slides, games rooms, cinema etc (particularly Lara beach, Side area) and fantasic food. We stayed at Delphin Palace again amazing, food better than Stella di mare (which we didnt think was possible!)
But the weather can be dodgy at Easter.

As an aside, please make sure you can obtain/afford Travel Insurance to cover PEMCs to include your upcoming operation; you may find that premiums are rather high.

    Thanks for all the advice.

The prices are crazy. You can go cheaper for 2 weeks than for one if you come back a week after the school Easter holidays finish!

We like the look of Aqua Blu for the children and we are tempted to book in somewhere nice for adults - only kiddin'.
  • Look at tne flight costs. Sharm is even higher this year as so many operators cut it last year. Turkey flights will probably be much cheaper. We do either/or each may bank hol but this year sharm flights are a killer.
    June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving

    July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550

    October challenge £100 a day. £385/£3100
  • It's worth having a look at Hurghada in Egypt too. Less purpose built than Sharm. Have a look at the Jungle Aqua Park or the Sunrise Royal Makadi Bay. The second one is a really great hotel with lots to do for all the family including some water slides.
