GE Money

Hi,
Havn't used the forum in a while, my question is a quick one really....
Had a loan with GE Money and they sold myself and my partner the PPI alongside the Loan.
Now when I have put the claim in with them they are saying even though they gave the loan for PPI, they did not sell it and gave the name of an independent financial adviser....
Now firstly can they do this?
Secondly, if I have paid them then surely they are responsible.
Hopefully I can get this sorted as it is worth over £8000.
Thank you.

I am having the same problem and now dont know who I need to put a complaint in with as GE MONEY are advising me to take it up with the broker who sold me the mortgage ? but cant seem to find any details on them but i have a sneeky suspicion they have either gone bust or changed names .0

That is correct.
No they have simply provided what you asked for. The adviser is responsible if they recommended you purchase the wrong thing.Secondly, if I have paid them then surely they are responsible.
It is a bit like a travel agent selling you a ticket to Australia when you wanted to go to France. If the Airline takes you to Perth it has delivered what it said it would and it is not at fault simply because you wanted to be in Paris.0 -

Who was the broker, when did you take the cover out and did you pay by a monthly premium or a single premium added to the loan?0 -
I paid this off in monthly repayments, I'm guessing I now need to take this to the financial adviser?
Thanks.0 -
