TFT or LCD ????? Want to declutter the office space and get two flat 19 inch monitors for the office. One for the apple mac and the other for a ordinary PC.
Also want monitor arms to hold this off the desk;so that you can use the space below them.
1. How do you choose the correct monitor & what do you look for? Is there a link to some basic but informative reading on tihs?
2. Where can get them at a good price?
3. Do all monitor arms work with all 19 inch monitors.
Any other ideas for stream lining the office space?
thanks

TFT is the old term that is now called LCD they are the same pretty much.
As for what to buy it all depends on the use it is gonna get.
If its photography and image editing then you will want to get the colours spot on so calibration is esential, other things to look at are the resolution with images from camers getting bigger higher resolution monitors are needed to show as much of the image without zooming.
Anything involving moveing images like vidoe editing ang gameing you need a decent pixle response time, some manufacturers claim high rates but they are normally poor especially the cheaper ones.
Price? you can get LCD monitors for very little now £130ish for a 19" but if they are going ot be used for the above applications you will need to spend a bit more. I would spend more anyway as you will be looking at them alot and the cheaper ones may not have detachable stands allowing you to use a swing arm mount.
It is a standard fitting for mounts but you should check that the monitor company sticks to the standards.0
