Hi
I live in a 4 bed detached house and have just had an electric bill of 130 pounds and gas bill of 238 pounds, I was shocked by both of them, although I have not lived in the house very long, after getting the massive gas bill we checked our loft insulation and found that it is practically non-existent! I think that everyone is getting big bills at the moment, but yours does sound high.
Not sure if this helps any, hope so.0 -
Have you checked your bills readings against the actual meter readings???
Perhaps (hopefully!) they have overestimated.0 -
Hi I live in a 2 bedroomed semi-detached, with GCH and DG my gas for this winter is £60 and my electric is £130 which to me sounds about right, being winter, both were correct readings, I am with ebico which is a damn sight cheaper than powergen were I can tell you, I also have cavity wall insulation which helps alot and good loft insulation but still have a draft coming from the loft so will have to get that checked out, but all in all I'd say yes they are a tad large. I also invested in some large door curtains from a charity shop and put them up last october which has made alot of difference.
