sounds a bit high? have you got your bills from last year? Check against them! Prices have risen by alot!
  • Hi

I live in a 4 bed detached house and have just had an electric bill of 130 pounds and gas bill of 238 pounds, I was shocked by both of them, although I have not lived in the house very long, after getting the massive gas bill we checked our loft insulation and found that it is practically non-existent! I think that everyone is getting big bills at the moment, but yours does sound high.

Not sure if this helps any, hope so.

Have you checked your bills readings against the actual meter readings???

    Perhaps (hopefully!) they have overestimated.
  • Hi I live in a 2 bedroomed semi-detached, with GCH and DG my gas for this winter is £60 and my electric is £130 which to me sounds about right, being winter, both were correct readings, I am with ebico which is a damn sight cheaper than powergen were I can tell you, I also have cavity wall insulation which helps alot and good loft insulation but still have a draft coming from the loft so will have to get that checked out, but all in all I'd say yes they are a tad large. I also invested in some large door curtains from a charity shop and put them up last october which has made alot of difference.
