Credit card re-applications

in Credit cards
Hi all, I am new to the forum and have a quick question that is puzzling me.
Last year I applied for 2 credit cards and got declined for both of them. I then joined Experian and found out that was because my credit score was low. I have since got it up to 'good' and wondered if I could apply for the same credit cards again? (These are ones with the longest interest free periods so are the most appealing to me). Do lenders look at the fact that they have declined you for their card beforehand, or only your credit score?
Thanks

They don't look at your score at all. Mostly because they can't see it, and secondly because it's a made up number.
What cards were you after and what does your credit report show?0 -
Thanks z&81. I was after either the Tesco or M&S both at 0% for 15 months on new purchases.
My credit report shows that I have a missed payment 7 months ago. Also, my highest credit limit is £900 which is also apparently seen as a risk (even though I asked for that amount to be brought down from £1500 so limit my spending).0 -
Tesco and M&S can be picky. The missed payment may be enough to reject you. What other cards do you have, what limits and do you have balances on them?0

Ok. I paid off both of my credit cards last month and cancelled one of them. 1 had £1000 limit on it and another had £500 limit. I never missed any payments for either in the time I had them.0
