applied for a mortgage, shall i apply for 0% card?

we have applied for a mortgage recently and it has been accepted in principle. subjects to some documents we should get a formal offer next week.

i was thinking of applying for the tesco 0% card. is it a good idea to apply for a credit card so soon after mortgage application?

I am in full time permanent employment and never had any problems with payments. apart from the mortgage dont have any debt. until now i have paid every months credit card bill in full but with savings eaten up by deposit i was thinking fo getting this deal. ta

Even after a formal offer, a mortgage can be refused at draw down stage, so I wouldn't apply for any kind of credit until exchange of contracts is completed, even if your credit history is perfect. It might not make a difference, but can you afford that risk?
  • until exchange of contracts is completed

They can withdraw the mortgage at any point they hand the money over, including between exchange and completion.
I wouldnt do anything till you have the keys.

Only apply for more credit during the mortgage process if you're mad, barking or just plain stupid.
