PPI reclaim company

I have been cold called by a PPI reclaim company called lifestyle money to ask if i would like to re claim my PPI from ongoing and previous loans. They now want to charge my credit card £350 for the pleasure of initiating the claim. Is this right and standard practice?

General rule of thumb is to never pay a claims company up front. Whilst we cannot talk about your company and what they have said to you if is fair to say that most of the scams that operate in the claims company side involve those that take an up front payment.
If you want more on this company then google them and you will find enough which will help you to make your own mind up.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I was caught out in similar circumstances with an up front fee company. I managed to get my money back, but had to bombard them with emails in a bid to choke up their inbox.
I was one of many who complained about them, and ultimately they lost their licence, but I could have lost £800.
For a while after that, I kept getting calls to my mobile from different companies, but always with the same area code, trying to get my details etc. I just kept hanging up.

Oh I don't know - using one to deliver a smart blow to a sensitive part of their anatomy would work wonders!0
