Good on you for sticking to your guns, Martin. I can't say I've ever been ripped off by a taxi driver locally but in Paris, they certainly screwed you over the fares, left, right and centre. Never used London taxis thank goodness.

I always carry plenty of change with me now, I hate having that awkward moment where you give over a £10 note for an £8 fare and they look at you as in they aren't gonna give you change/expect you to say keep it!!
