Moving house and ADSL

OK, a bit of an unusual request.
We are about to move back into my wifes parents house, at least for the foreseeable future due to a number of personal reasons. We want to keep our current broadband (eclipse) as we have a) been happy with the service we've had (good speeds and uncapped downloads) and b) we want to keep our email addresses.
Now the in-laws have AOL broadband, and were thinking of changing from that anyway, and are happy for us to move our ADSL to their phone line, and for everyone in the house to share using our wireless router. It suits us to keep our internet stuff the same, and also contributes (a little bit) to the household.
Now, my question is how best can we achieve this? Do the in-laws get a MAC code for us to give to eclipse? Do they cancel and then we tell eclipse we are doing a house move? Are there likely to be any additional charges?
Any help and advice gratefully received.

they cancel and then you tell eclipse you are doing a house move, some isp dont charge customers as they want to keep you.0

I thought that would work, but would it be quicker to get a MAC code??0

The MAC code route should be quicker as you should only experience a couple of hours downtime at least.
Cancelling and reactivating with a new provider could takes a few days, if not longer.Dave. :wave:0 -
Will a Mac code be ok even though we are changing lines?0

The In-Laws would be the one applying for a MAC code as it would be their line that get's changed to the new ISP.
A MAC code would be no use to you as you're moving house, not just moving ISP. Eclipse could move your ADSL, but if you went that route, you'd have to get the In-Laws to cancel with AOL first. Moving your ADSL could take up to 7 days, maybe longer, maybe shorter. The delay wouldn't be Eclipses fault, that's just how long BT take.Dave. :wave:0 -
Try and go down the MAC code route
It takes upto 10 days to fully remove ADSL and then about the same before it's fully connected in the new premises.
Give Eclipse a call and tell them what you want to do. At the end of the day your wanting to keep their ADSL so they should be helpful, otherwise it'll mean losing you.0
