Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 28th February. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chatabout everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring andmotivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to dotoday or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) andjoin us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be awarethat many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help othersthat don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly butif not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you goto bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two dailythreads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each newdaily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you haveto though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning All,
DS decided that as he was born at 6.30am, that is what time we should open presents I didn't even realise that he knew there were two 6.30's in a day:rotfl:Hwever he did make coffee before waking us up :A
Hope everyone has a good dayx
Hugs, spoons,& get well /good luck vibes as needed x

Morning Jaxx and all to follow,
I have just started the thread too, so could one on the mods please delete it, thanks.
Big gloomy here today, still nevermond work for me, and its my busiest time due to year end, so a frantic week for me.
Dinner tonight is lasagne, made it yesterday and there is enough for 2 nights, so nice and easy.
Will put a wash on tonight and on the airer, and need to walk the dog afterwork.
Have good days all xx0 -
Jaxx happy birthday to you DS. See kids can get out of bed that early with the right motivation :rotfl:
Dull, dark and damp here. Just the usual plod planned as building work continues so can't really go far.
Tea will be bacon risotto I think.
Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not,I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife Louise BrooksAll will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Morning Jaxx and Redruby and all who follow. Hope your Ds has a good birthday Jaxx. Damp and gloomy here but quite mild. Dog walked and fed , just have to jump in shower and off to school. Toad in the hole for tea which DS will cook. Not much OS for me today, didn't manage ironing last night so will have to do it tonight.!!!!!

Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Dull, wet and cloudy here this morning, DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Horrendous day at work yesterday - soo busy - didn't stop all day - came home with a bad head, dehydrated - took until well into the evening to get rid of it. Hoping today won't be as bad! Managed to get a line of washing dry on the line, got it in then it started to rain.
Dinner last night was smoked sausage pasta - very nice! Tonight menfolk are having chicken goujons and I'll be having mushroom omlette and salad. Must remember to get the meat out to defrost for tomorrow night. Will need to stop off on the way home tonight and pick up some more bread, milk, sandwich meat and crumpets/muffins - should cost under £10 so not too bad.
Not much else going on here.
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Morning everyone. Happy birthday to your ds.
I have been up for a while revising like a mad woman but think i'm er, as ready as i'll ever be!
I need to add £2 to my GC but i'm still well under budget this month so the extra can go in the fund and I have more ebay sales to add to the fund. I need to set up a new ISA so I can move the money into one place just for it.
Not really much time for OS today, dinner will be a batch of something quick to go in the fridge. Really want to make something with mince but no time to get to a shop where it's reasonably pricedLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Morning all
Happy Birthday to DS jaxx
Good luck Adelight
Gloomy here today, but it's payday tomorrrow!! For both OH and i!So for the first time in a long while we can clear ALL the bills at the start of the month and not worry again till april! And OH is due another payday in 2 weeks too.GET IN
Defrosted chicken kievs for dinner tonight, and a WW bagel for lunch. Start WW online a few weeks ago, lost 1.5lb each week, and half a stone in total this year so far, slow and steady, I'm hoping will win the race.

Morning....chilly outside but looks like its going to be a nice day.
Got daughter off to school and just put a hand of pork in the oven for dinner...having the fabulous baker brothers pulled pork, me and my son are even going to attempt homemade pittas to go with it.
Had potting compost delivered yesterday so me and son are going to start planting some herbs in the propogator.
Other than that it will be the usual housework stuff and keeping son out of hubbies hair while hes trying to get his uni work done.
Hope everyone has a good day0 -
Good Morning all,bit grey looking at the moment outside the window but is forecast to brighten up later I have to take my Dd to the dentist this afternoon as she has to have two wisdom teeth taken out. Lots of TLC for her I think today
Am still wading through these blooming photos I don't seem to have made much of a dent in them I am trying to get them into date order i didn't realise how many I had taken over the years .But its good to see how the family (and my waistline ) have grown over time :) Well must get a wriggle and the kettle on as well Hope everyone has a good and productive day
Cheers chums JackieO xx0 -
Morning
Bit grey here this morning, but no rain so washing will go out when WM finishes. DW is on and dinner is in SC, kids have dentist this afternoon they are having coating put on teeth, I have meeting this evening too so will be nice to have dinner ready rather than dashing in and having to do something in a hurry. We have book club at work and I have ordered a SC book so we will be having more SC meals in future, know there are threads on here and I do look at them but book is only £2 reduced from £10 and I think its nice to have books, plus school library gets books from sales commission.
Well time to check WM and get ready for work.

Morning all
Grey, but mild, here this morning. Just been to a behaviour "seminar" given at my son's school - guy used to work for local council, but now for himself - really good stuff, lots of common sense, etc. School hopes to run more of the same if there's demand - hope so!
DD (23) moving into a new flat on Friday, so have been wading through all her washing that's been in the garage since New Year - yeuch! - it will be her housewarming present though!!
Kids' colds/flu just about gone now, DD (2.5) slept all night (therefore, so did I!) - first time in WEEKS, hurray!
Got a settee-full of ironing to do this afternoon, and loads of towels to wash besides other washing - will have to use TD as there's so much - after spinning them half to death first so TD on for less time!
Have a good day all, prayers/hugs/kisses to you all.
