    Thanks Kris. I might try and contact the PhD math student from the which report as that is a basic method you describe, having studied computer science myself at degree level. Maybe there are three generators which could get tricky or two and the generation method for at least one cannot be discovered from the information provided.

    From a computer nerd point of view, all the information in charge calculation can be determined so I don't think its that.

    Unless the computer does not have a complete history of accountancy (ie information was purged and just a new starting balance was assumed but this had a charge calculation which could be altered (ie via back value or other adjustment)).

    In which case the calculation would fall down. But thats more an issue with a banks purging policy (which should be ignored, systematically, if prior calculations are still " in effect ")
