The huge HSBC £1000 !!!! Up

Hello

I have had a look through and a little search but didn't find anyone else on the face of it who had experienced the same issue.

Basically, I thought I had my settled PPI claim with them, on-going through 2011, finally 'settled' in November when I won my case, in the region of £1500, the amount on my loan which was left was £1270, the agreement which HSBC was to pay off what was left, I was happy with that despite being seemingly slightly short changed.

Contacted by a branch to go into a branch to have my loan 'readjusted' to have the PPI removed, and then told I'd receive my compensation...

Very painful long session in branch getting the loan readjusted, once complete, they pay a 1000 into my account (the readjusted amount) and take the full remaining loan out, and level it up by adding £270 in readjustment fees...(approx)

So I now have a £1000 loan to pay off, and no more compensation coming to me, confusion and many phone calls later, brings us to just before Christmas when I speak to someone who manages to get through to the PPI department, confusion between the departments, (as I was told my loan would be paid off, so why I had an outstanding loan made no sense). Customer service rep agrees to cancel this new loan, in 'theory' making it all square.

Roll on Feb 9th, when I get a letter, very simply stating, that HSBC have taken a £1000, in relation to the £1000 which was deposited in November, that is all. No warning, no phone call, no real explanation why.

This has now involved another good 4 hours of phone calls to HSBC (if I add this to hours before I'm quite scared to figure out how much time i've spent on with them, probably close to 12 hours). To make matter worse, no one can tell me why, 2 different customer service workers wrongly sent the issue to PPI, spoke to the loans department who acknowledged it was in relation to the £1000 organised in November (some success) but then said it was because someone from within HSBC cancelled the loan in Dec (back to square one again once I explained I knew this, it's because should have not had a loan in the first place). There have been 3 wrongly created complaints, the so called '5 days acknowledgement' never happens and bottom line, I'm still without a 1000 pounds and now under the general impression that my PPI has been totally mismanaged.. the lack of urgency on this is frightening, a £1000 of my money is one swoop, is a big chunk, and i've been charged already for going over my overdraft, in the same month gone to Berlin, had my birthday and start a new job, not exactly a great time for this happen..

The reps who I talk to basically see on the paper that this is s*** storm of epic proportions and spans across departments, and no one seems to want to join up the dots, and nor can I speak to anyone who can do anything about it.

Have a rep 'supposedly' calling me tomorrow as he is calling the complaints department and then calling me.

Now I know the facts, I know the amount I won from my claim, I know the remaining amount I had on the original loan, the fact that an HSBC rep looked into my PPI claim agreement and cancelled my readjusted-loan seeing it was incorrectly given to me. (surely not something that can be done lightly). I have to keep reminding myself of these facts as I start to feel like I'm going crazy. No one at HSBC is saying i'm wrong, but neither can they tell me how it should be or how it's getting sorted

Tired, angry, stressed and frustrated and most of all helpless..so sorry, just wanted to share in the small wonder if any other poor soul has experienced this.
