Paying credit cards

Like most people I have credit cards.
Usually, I'll pay the balance off each month, but sometimes I don't if I have made a lot of purchases. So, some of my transactions will have incurred interest and some not.
I always pay by post, a cheque along with one of those tear off thingumies from the bottom of the statement.
With me so far, good.
Sometimes, I have used an 'old' tear off thingumy from an old statement, instead of the one that came with the statement I'm paying.
I have always assumed that there wouldn't be any problem with this but it crossed my mind that maybe these things are dated in some way? (They all contain an undecypherable serial number.)
So, my question is if I pay using an old 'tear off thingumagig' instead of the current one, am I running up any extra interest?

Doubt it. The tear off strip just has the bank details on, and the date is added by your or the bank clerk so I can't see how you'd end up paying extra interest?Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

maybe gain access to the internet and pay using online banking?
and best to start to pay in full each month and then avoid paying interest all the time0
