Letter from TAX Credits re credit check

P.S as long as someone is living with you, they will have a financial link to you via credit ratings whether you are in a relationship with them or not (my parents were linked to mine for many years, much to their disgrace!). Since Tax Credits became part of the Inland Revenue they have access to your credit rating and they are now able to review these as part of security and investigations. I once had to give details of my mobile phone account to pass tax credits securiy which confused me and prompted me to research!. If this person still lives with you, you need to prove they are not responsible for your child, if they no longer live with you and you are no longer linked you need to write to Experian or Equifax to get them to state on your credit file you are no longer linked to them.0

Yes.
Contact tax credits firstly and ensure they have either his current address or him registered as 'Return Letter Service'.
Also do this with Self Assesment.
And I know it's hard but try to be more assertive. You shouldn't have to take any flack for a man who's obviously not assertive himself. He'd have notified them himself - it's his responsibility. But get on the phone and update people. It will reassure you.
nobs - are you an employee of HMRC??
