credit card balance written off

Hi
Maybe someone could help me I have had a credit card for several years, and have recently been advised by a third party that as the credit card providers have never informed me of an increase in my credit limit that what ever the the balance is, as long as its over £1,000 the balance would be written off, does anyone know if this is correct ?
Thank you Marco

No, this is not the case - it sounds like a scam. I think someone else had this a couple of days ago

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

LOL, if you're concerned about having an excess amount of available credit you can just call and downgrade it. How would it possible be legal to have your balance written of because of that?
  • Why would you believe this? I keep seeing these posts, by that logic if i had a £5k limit which had been increased but had £500 debt i'd have to pay it back or spend £4,500 and get it written off.
  • Greedy bankers wanting these debts paid back!!
  • I think he misheard. I'm sure they said the balance will be "Ripped Off" Stole from your details you give them.
