Hi,
I purchased a Lenovo Desktop PC 3000 J105 (type 8259). I have just purchased a few extras to bump the spec up a bit and was wondering if someone could say if my PSU will be able to handle all the new hardware? This is what the original specs were(Click here). And this is the upgraded version;
AMD Sempron 3400+
Vista Home Premium
2GB(2x 1Gb) PC-3200 400MHz DDR memory
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music OEM Soundcard
Leadtek WinFast AGP 7600 GT 256MB DDR3 AGP
48x32x48x CD-RW drive
240gb(1sata 80gb and 2x80gb ide drives)
external 250gb hard drive(USB 2.0)
If i do need more power can someone reccomend me a PSU please. PS I wont be upgrading anymore after this, if this helps.
Thanks

Well this is my rig don't know if it will help, but Seasonic are a good brand plus quiet and stable, plenty of room for upgrading. They make above and below 600watts if thats too much power, don't know if it will help.
Akasa ECLIPSE-62 Case
ASUS A8N SLI PREMIUM MOBO
AMDx2 4800 2.4GHZ PROCESSOR
SATA2 SAMSUNG SPINPOINT120S 250GB
600W SEASONIC S-12
CORSAIR 1024-3200C2PT DDR-RAM
2 AKASA AMBER 120mm FANS
ASUS N7800GTX/2DHDTV 256MB
AND AN OLD CD-ROM DRIVE FOR NOW!0 -
My initial thoughts would be that 250W wouldn't be enough, mostly on account of the dedicated (7600GT) graphics card.
May I suggest this 400W one at the very least - 400w Silverpower SP-400P1B for £31-32 delivered. Not a well-known make but it received good reviews at click here & here. G0 -

I am unsure of which type of PSU I will need.
System board / Form factor
Tower (4x4) with VIA K8M800 chipset
Supports AMD Sempron processor with 128KB or 256KB L2 cache
Supports AMD Athlon 64 processors with 512KB or 1MB L2 cache
Supports I/O bus speeds of 1600MHz
Custom micro-ATX system board design
AMD 754 socket
Any ideas?
P.S It looks like i will need a new psu, the calculator Toxteth recommended says i will need 246watts. Thats cutting it too fine!

Hi I recommend the Hiper psu:
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/112897/rb/25451144092
Or
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/98564
Their a little more expensive but they have really good reviews and the best thing of all you only need to add the cables you need so your pc is not over flowing with extra wires.
