Return of Goods Order (Suspended)

Hello everyone, i'm Chris from Liverpool.

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong section, I wasn't too sure :embarasse

I was just after some advice with regards to one of many financial troubles i'm having at the moment.

Last year I fell behind with my car repayments and in December '11 I was issued with a Return of Goods Order from the County Court. After speaking with the solicitors involved, they applied for the Order to be suspended which was approved, as long as I kept up with increased repayments.

Now, I have made these increased repayments on time for the last 3 months, but am finding it increasingly difficult to meet other financial demands as a result. I am paying £623.00 per month for this order, which is just under half of my monthly salary. I have spoken with the car finance company and asked for a) a payment break for 1 month, to help with other debts and b) if I could rearrange the payment amounts! Both requests were declined.

Is there anyway of having the amount in which I have to pay towards this order lowered, as I am really struggling at the moment.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, it's much appreciated, and look foward to any replies.

  • £623 for 3 months is £1869... how much are the actual arrears on the account and do u have the option of reverting back to the original monthly payment once arrears are cleared or is this now for the term of the agreement? £1869 for 3 months is a lot... my car was £8100 monthly payments were £132 a month.. that amount would be 14 months payments under those terms.... how much is the normal monthly payment?
On the road to financial freedom.... one MSE penny at a time....:T
