Money transferred to wrong account

Hi All,
My friend owned me about £25 I gave him my account details about 2 weeks ago and nothing came through. I just checked and it was my fault I accidently gave him the wrong sort code. 1 digit was not correct. Will the bank give him the money back or has it gone?

If the sort code exists and under that code there is an account with the identical number, the money will end-up there. It cannot be claimed back, although the bank can get in touch with the account holder asking (but not demanding) to return the dosh.
If the sort code/account combination does not exist, the money will bounce back to your friend. That might take a couple of weeks.0 -
Well I know 100% that knowing my luck, it will exist and the person will not give it back

You can check if the sort code is valid, there's websites that will do it for you0
