Freepost + Recorded = ?

Hi guys,
recently went to a jumble sale and picked up a load of old sealed PS2 monitors for a fiver each - turns out these are worth £16 trade in to CEX!
Now they have a freepost address but I am a little concerned about lugging them down to the post office..
The whole package weighs around 35KG's. It is obviously way too big to fit through a letter box, but I am just a little concerned about the "recorded" delivery side of things.
will Freepost still cover this package? If so, what sort of cost will I be looking at on top to get it sent recorded on top? (cex recommend you do this when sending to them, and I'd like the reassurance that I won't have just thrown money at Royal Mail to lose)
I did look in the postage sticky, but there doesn't seem to be much information on freepost and additional costs in there.
Can anybody help me out?
EDIT
Okay, now I'm a bit more learned about Royal Mail, its to my understanding they will only accept parcels up to 20KG through RM and 30KG through Parcel Force. And I'm guessing Freepost only covers Royal Mail.
I could send these off 2 at a time, so does anybody have a very rough idea of how much extra I'd end up paying to have a parcel around 14KG sent to a Freepost address and have it recorded? I read in another thread that i tshould be 72p(ish) but they didn't state if that was 72p per KG, or for a DVD sized envelope or what..I hate posting.

It may be worth you contacting CEX & see if they can arrange a courier collection. Recorded delivery only covers you for £46 or £47 sorry I can't remember which.
Wouldn't you get a lot more for them on ebay?0 -

If I sent them in 2's at 14KG then they would only be worth £32! Any idea how much that costs?
Suprisingly I couldn't find a single listing for them, and I am amazed at the price they give - I certainly wouldn't pay that much for something that uses such an old console as the PS2. Also weighing 7KG's each it would be a pain with the postage and such each time as well. Besides this is all going towards the eBay dream anywayI'll let you in on my eBay business plan

In this case it would make your model...
found cheap things > eBay/specialist forum for normally a pretty damn good profit
That looks like a lot less hassle to me!!0 -
Don't quite understand that logic? If they are worth £16 trade-in on CEX then they must sell for more than retail otherwise CEX wouldn't pay that much for them. As hermum said, you should get a lot more for them on ebay or perhaps a specialist forum.

It's really not and I've edited out why incase CEX catch wind!any idea on the additional costage for postage so I can stop lurking as I just seem to be getting into an arguement with a mod on another thread..

In answer to your original question, the price is 77p per item, regardless of weight. (Maximum weight is 20kg)
However - Recorded Delivery doesn't offer any tracking, so the only thing you're getting for the 77p is a signature when it is delivered. The item travels with 'ordinary' mail and is not tracked throughout its journey.
Additionally, you are unlikely to get the amount you have seen quoted on the CEX site. CEX are well known for substantially reducing the payment for 'bulk' items, and they sometimes class 2 items as bulk. In fact, this is documented on their website:We may also reduce the price if the quantity being sold by a customer of an identical item exceeds two [2] units within a period of one [1] month.
Can I sell multiples of the same item?
Prices displayed on our website are offered on the basis that you are selling in one of each item, and the value offered is honoured for the time period shown of 5 working days for us to receive your goods. If you wish to sell multiple copies your order may be classed as a bulk buy, as such these items may be subject to a price change. If this happens you will be contacted by email, informing you of what change will be made to the value of each item sent and you will have 5 working days to respond. Failure to respond will be seen as your agreement to accept the new value offered. (This will slow down your payment for goods and it is in your best interest to agree to or refute the price offered as soon as you receive the email to avoid delay in payment.)0 -

Thanks mate! I can handle sending two a month to do, already up to my eyeballs in CEX credit notes. Thanks!0 -

Recorded costs 77p per packet. bazzyb had already answered this question.
You could have also found this information on Royal Mail website in seconds and gave an accurate answer. The OP is clearly a newbie.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -

No the other
posters questioning my
attitude did not teach me
anything
However, back on topic. Bazzyb had already answered the question accurately - was his answer not good enough? You are clearly not happy that the OP came here to ask a question reagarding the price of Recorded Delivery because the answer can be found on the RM website.
There are plenty of threads where answers can be found by a simple google search or in the help section on eBay, that does not mean you can not ask the question here.
Your posts always come across rude and sarcastic.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0
