Hi,
Myself and husband commenced a DMP with CCCS in Sept 2011. Most of our creditors have frozen interest or reduced to 3%, apart from the Halifax CC.
The Halifax is our largest creditor we owe them approx £26K:eek:.
We were on a special deal which ended when we commenced DMP as payments were late due to the way CCCS works. I telephoned and complained as they had increased our rate to normal (26%). This resulted in them refunding all interest, charges and froze interest for the next month. After this they started charging us 1% per month which means we pay about £15.00permonth off capital each month and we would be dead by the time it was paid off.
I wrote and complained again and quoted the Lending Code as this states that lenders should treat you fairly and repayments should not be calculated over an unreasonable time. Today we had a reply basically stating that they have not made an error.
My next course of action is to complain to FSO. Has anyone had success with this?
