I think you should contact Bauer, as high up as possible and by letter, letter still makes more impact than an email - and include a printout of the email you received. Everyone has personal problems, but it's very unprofessional to blame his mistake on concern for a sick relative. For all we know it could even be an excuse to try and stop you making a fuss.
(You could even answer to the same email and inform him you are taking the matter higher, you may find that a suitable alternative prize may materialise.)
I hope something can be worked out for you!0 -
Blimey people, calm down, the poor person made a mistake, get over it and stop moaning.
its a free competition .....0 -
Thank you, that's very kind of you to do that. :kisses3:That's horrible news.
I've sent a brief email to the FA through their contact form to see if they can do anything, pretty sure they'd be interested in some positive press coverage if they did anything to help you out
Chyna-s, Yes we have been conversing via email and he has said that was another mistake he made, he told us on friday it was a family ticket (I have entered a lot of footie comps so didn't know off hand which one it was) he said he was confused with another comp they had run. So either way I would have had to let my children know we all couldn't go after telling them we could.
redbull08, I tried that number yesterday with no luck but will try again today, Thank you.
You have all been so kind, now I have had time to think about it and told my children (que a crying 9yr old :wall:) I am a bit more calm about it and kind of think I sound a bit selfish going off about this when theres worse thinks going on in the world :embarasse. But on the plus side in the latest email from them I was asked what teams my children support so they can see if there is anything else that can be done
.
I still love comping and thank you to all who post comps and help with comps, its amazing really, I don't know how you all do it. I never find a unique comp to post. You all work so hard for this fantastic hobby.

Yes, I know that and as I have said to the person who has made the mistake, if it was just me I would have taken it on the chin and brushed it off, mistakes do happen but having to let my children down really upset me, more than I thought it would.
I won't give you a sob story like the email I recieved had in it but there are reasons I was so upset about it.RISEABOVEHATE

Not quite as kind as the nice gentleman from the FA who replied this evening (after evidently having read the thread as I linked him to it)
redrose1414, if you wanna drop me a PM with an email address I'll reply to him and you and you can take it from there.Hi Doltage,
Thank you for contacting the Football Association.
Unfortunately at this late stage we do not have any complimentary tickets that we are able to allocate. However we would be happy to send out a goody bag for the children who have unfortunately missed out on this opportunity.
If you could please forward an address I will have a letter and goody bag put together for children.
