Gotta be a garibaldi with or without tea for me
There's no such thing as a free lunch but there seems to be no shortage of free tea....

Chocolate fingers are evil, they take you over and before you know it you have eaten a whole box :o

Near me you can get 3 boxes for £1.10, I refuse to buy them cos I doubt they would make it home :o:o

So glad that's not just me! :o

Haven't bought any since the 'CSI episode' :o
(Sat watching it with a box on the arm of the sofa, just aimlessly picking one up and eating without even glancing at the box. reaches in for another, nothing? looks at packet.............empty!!!!! )

They are smaller than they used to be though and they don't have as many per box as they used too!

Ohh yeah! And erm jaffa cake is kinda self explanatory  :D

    I voted choccy fingers!!!!!!

What???   BUY biscuits??? Shame on you all :naughty:

    The very *best* biscuit ....

... are the one's I make :rotfl: :rotfl:

Every Day Bisuits (makes approx 45)

    Ingredients:
    1/2 lb butter (softened)
    4 oz sugar (castor)
    1/2 lb SR Flour
    1 ts vanilla essence

    Instructions:
Beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, add vanilla and fold in the flour
Mix to a smooth dough Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for a minute or two. Roll into a sausage shape approx 5cm/ 2in in diameter, put in fridge to chill until firm. To Freeze: Wrap in foil, pack in a freezer bag. Seal, label and freeze. To Thaw and Serve: Thaw in the wrappings in the fridge for approx 30 mins, then cut into thin (ish) slices, place on greased baking sheets and bake in a preheated oven for 10mins. Gas 5/190C/ 375F Transfer to a wire rack and leave to cool. Sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.

Variations: Chocolate: Sub 25g / 1oz cocoa powder for the vanilla. Cherry: Add 50g / 2 oz glace cherries, finely chopped Nut: Add 50g/2oz chopped almonds or walnuts. Notes: These take moments to prep. I make one batch and cut the 'sausage' in half before chilling. Once chilled to firm, one half is then put in the freezer. The "dough" will keep in the fridge for a few days, so you can "slice" fresh biscuits as and when required.

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker
    Caramel Choocy Digestive.

    I like a good Flapjack though - suppose that's a cake?
  • Rich tea are one of the best on two levels, they taste great and you can see how long they can be dunked without them falling into the tea....kept me entertained for ages when I was a kid; a great excuse for eating an entire packet:grin:
  • Does anybody remember "All Butter Thins?" My partner says they were the best biscuit when he was a child, about 15 years ago. Can't say I remember them and i've looked high and low for them! Anybody know what happened to them? Also looked on https://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com but no mention on there either.
  • Tunnocks, Tunnocks, Tunnocks!! They make the kind of biscuit you dream about. Particularly the Tunnock's Teacake, not just a teacake, a Tunnock's Teacake. I can buy cheap on any other biscuit but that. They just know what they are doing. Put it on any biscuit plate and watch it dissappear.

You can tell how well you are appriciated in a household, if they put a Tunnock's Teacake out, then you are as high as you can go in their estimation. That's why I love the Blood Donation people they buy proper biscuits. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I want one now.

(Though I will say the Carmel Wafer is also a class act biscuit worth anyones money):p
  • Chocolate rich teas are my current favourite.
