ppi question for novice user

I have just realised that I have been paying PPI on my Credit Card (Lloyds TSB) but I have no idea when this started?
I have had the card for the past 14 years since I was 18years. Would it have been from the start? Or would it have been introduced later? I phoned to ask for my term and conditions agreement and I had a letter back saying they could not find one? I have cancelled my PPI now but not sure what to do next. I had no idea what I was actually paying for. It was not a lot each month as I pay off my card most months but it probably has added up. Any ideas what I should do next?

Hi Melunded123
The chances are that you have paid this policy from the start. Is it on a statement that you have found the PPI? You can use this as proof of a PPI policy if you wanted to claim on it. Do you have online statements for the card? if you do I would suggest searching as for back as you can to show the payments you have made. Regardless of how much it was you paid each month, whether big or small. you shouldnt have been paying for a policy you werent aware about. Try claim back this money.0 -

Credit card PPI can be done at point of sale of the card but is very often added during marketing calls at a later date. So, it could have been either.
You dont need to know when it started if you have grounds for complaint.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
