I have the MBNA American Express card and have a fairly small BT amount owing on the card. I know you can also use the card for purchases and the repayments goes to towards the dearest debt. However what I did not know until today was if you purchase something say today and do not pay until 3 days later they now charge you from the moment the purchase is shown on the card.
Based on that It is really pointless using the card as I have others that offer up to 56 days free interest.

Yep its standard on all cards.
You only get 'up to 56 days interest free' on a card if you clear the balance in full each month, as you are not doing you are charged interest daily on the purchase balance.
So the old rule about keeping 0% transfers and standard purchases on separate cards still applies.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
