Sorry if this post is in the wrong place.
I want to bid on e-bay but don't have a PayPal account. I have looked into opening account but find it confusing. Can someone please tell me:-
1) If I register my credit card for payments, is there a fee for each payment?
2) If I just give my bank details, presumably this would not incur a charge?
3) To have a "balance" in the PayPal account, is this payments that someone has made to you?
Sorry for being thick.

No charge for using a credit card. Paypal charges the receiver regardless of what payment method you use.
Never give your bank details. If someone gets your Paypal details, they will have access to your bank account also! (You can use your bank account to verify your account, just don't link your paypal account to your bank for the purpose of withdrawing cash)
A Paypal balance is either when someone pays you, or you withdraw funds from a bank account into your paypal balance.0 -
But pay attention to the currencies you use for Paypal and your credit card. This can be pretty expensive when you have different currencies and have to pay 2.5% for every exchange!0

Thanks to all for your help.0
