  • Thanks :), fairly self explanatory. Here's the text to go with the above, any advice more than welcome :)

"Ok some pictures. Will take some more in the morning as it was dark outside, which is why pictures of the master bedroom are missing.

Looking at those pics - sorry, but I can't fault. Think the pics look great

I think the brown tiled floor with the 90's door curtains is dated (sorry). Taking the curtains down would be an immediate (and free) boost, I think.

Also, the dining area looks as if it's in a hall area or corridor? Although it's a nice extra bit of space, I'd probably take a closer photograph of the table, and another facing the other way (tidy up the shoes), because it doesn't look like a real room in the long shot.

    fancy buying a flat? ;)
  • Its a shame the front door is'nt in keeping with the rest of the property. It kind of looks out of place, and if it were me buying the flat i think i'd want something a little more period (to match the rest of the house), this might well be your problem area. Can we have another pic from the aspect of walking through the front door (ie whats the first thing we'd see?)

Can we also have a pic of the front door (from the outside with the door closed)

Being really, really picky i'd say the following:

    - Shower curtain - I guess a screen is not possible? Maybe just a changed to a less NHS looking shower curtain (please dont be offended, i'm trying to offer honest feedback!)

    - What is the pull cord for by the front door?

    - The tiles in the entrance hallway do look a little dated

    - The fire alarm in the hallway looks a little dated (not much you can do with this id imagine.

    - I'm not a fan of brass door handles (and they can look dated) - Unless they are originals perhaps consider chrome ones?

On a side note, i LOVE the original internal shutters. From the rightmove listing you showed us earlier your agent does'nt make any reference or mention of period features such as this.

They have no real photos of the lounge, whereas your photos of it look superb.

Finally, if you do send photos to the agent take them again but de-clutter all the rooms, ie remove washing from the rads, move all coats and shoes, remove all items in the kitchen / bathroom etc etc

Hope this is of some help

It's for a low energy external light directly above the front door

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Few things I'd change purely for the photos:

Shower curtain - blue doesn't go, something neutral, white or cream etc would go better

'Filing cabinet' in the toilet looks out of place. The pine wall cupboard doesn't go with the modern fittings, maybe would be better if painted white.

Take down front door curtains. Ditto door mat.

    Hallway clutter, hide it.

All the rooms look very narrow, the lounge looks nice.

I'd put neutral coloured towels in and remove the cushions on the sofas.

It doesn't look like it needs 'updating' though to me.

Apart from the shape of some of the rooms, there doesn't seem to be much wrong with it. At least, not enough to put a viewer off. But, as they say, "there's nowt as queer as folks". Especially when it comes to their taste in decor.
The problem is that people seem to be unable to see what a place could look like with a little effort on their part. They only seem to be able to see what there actually is when they look.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
