Capital one credit card

I sent a letter with a cheque for £1 for details on my closed credit card account. The debt on this card when it was closed was £1600 ish, and I paid off £1300 ish to close the account. I asked for my account details and whether there was PPI on it, but they replied saying they would not send me details as I had made an agreement to not pay back the full amount. Is there anything I should do to look into this further? Or forget about it?

I had a similar issue and ignored it. Have not heard anything since!

Hi, Capital one have done exactly the same to me on a partial settlement credit card. I have re written with another cheque for £10 and requested a full account breakdown. i have also advised them in the letter that if they do not provide me with the info then i will pass my complaint to the financial ombudsman. all my credit cards were partial settlement and none of the others (yet) have spun this excuse. regardless of the final settlement, you still paid the ppi up to the date of settlement. i am gonna keep going!!!

Oh thats good to hear then. I'll knock another letter up and try the £10 cheque idea. I will report back when I hear something else.
