With hindsight, the £6,000+ I paid over the 8 years was a complete waste of money and I do feel I was pushed into taking the policies, but whether or not they were mis sold to me is another question.
Nothing you have said indicates any mis-sale. Indeed, the use of PHI (the scot am policy) instead of PPI shows a better quality of advice as PPI would have been the weak option but PHI is the perfect option for self employed.
All insurance is a waste of money if you never claim. It turns into a Godsend if you do have to claim. Just because you do not suffer a claim in the period of cover does not mean you were mis-sold. You cannot reclaim premiums just because you did not suffer a claimable event.Does anyone know who I can get advice from in this situation and who to send a possible claim to.
You complain to charterhouse. However, your reasons are poor and they were pre-regulation (2005). So, they can almost certainly easily reject them.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
What is looks like is that you are attempting to make a fraudulent complaint. Unlike the banks, adviser firms are more likely to decide to pursue you for costs if you do that. There is not indication of any wrong doing in what you have posted. Yet you are chasing compensation.
A clear case of miscomplainingLuckily for Charterhouse, you bought before 2005 so they wont suffer real cost and they can shut down the complaint as being pre-regulation and thankfully that means you wont get a penny.
These policies also fall outside of the General Insurance Standards Council's code of practice so FOS will not entertain the complaint either.0 -

I've just reported these comments to the forum moderator.
I have every right to try to seek advice on whether I have been mis sold insurances policies. What I now know is that this is not the place to ask for advice, so I will not be posting here again.0 -
What a real charmer. Some lovely people posting BS 'mis sold' threads here recently.0

LOL - He was rude in his reponse and then deletes it and reports others to the moderators. What I now know is that this is not the place to ask for advice, so I will not be posting here again.
Quite right. This is a money saving site. Not a how-commit-fraud site.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. That's not the kind of responce any new poster wants to see, it makes you look confrontational.
Only because the OP deleted his response. The tone was in keeping with that. Not ideal but if you are going to dish it out then you should expect it back.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If the OP was abusive, then rise above it, this is a quality forum, don't get involved in squabbles, saying "Next" makes you look like you enjoy conflict.0
