We are about to purchase Black Woodgrain uPVC windows.
One of the Window companies we approached mentioned that Black Woodgrain uPVC windows could discolor over a short time because black attracts a lot more sunlight than i.e. white uPVC windows.
Other Window Companies haven't mentioned anything like this.
Can someone please let me know their views on the above?
Many thanks

Find out the guarantee on the windows check what profile is being used phone the profile company direct and get all information you require my experience it does tend to fade over a long period of time but windows are better now so should not be too much of a problem get the insurance back guarantee in case company goes bust.We are about to purchase Black Woodgrain uPVC windows.

i haven't actuially seen any black pvc windows .but one of my customers has the mahogany effect on their windows - they are around 15 years old and still look in 1st class condition , no fading , i was so impressed i had them on my house also
i would imagine that if black windows are not kept clean then the dust/ grime etc would probably do more to discolour them , i think the secret is to keep them clean , this applies to white ones as well,0 -
I would try this Safechoice website, it is new on the market and they seem to have a lot of dealers, they might have black frames.0

Black window frames on the inside of a room can make the room much darker. Have them only black on the outer face and left white on the inside. This should be cheaper and more convenient for you in the future.0
