No print outs were given just an invoice for "tracking". So just my word against theirs about the 4 degrees they told me.
The tyres taken off had over 4mm on the inside and about 2mm on the outside. The car mainly does short journeys about town. Should I get it rechecked or is this wear normal for this type of driving? My plan was to monitor the wear closely.
I understand how the screwing the ends on to the thead would not show however there were no signs of witness marks on the hexes. I work in hydraulics and service my own car so am not mechanically naive.0 -
theres no burrs anywhere so its not been tracked recently because if that picture is of the offside wheel which it is then the steering arm would have had to be wound in at least one full turn to lose 2 degrees so there would be marks on the arm where it was turned and also first thing you do is clean the thread up so the locking nut can move
the car was toeing in so is it possible you scrubbed the tyres by zealous driving rather than a tracking issue?
those wheels look big0 -

poundland is fine for their £1 aerosol sprays for work though so im pleased to say i am indeed a customer of theirs and proud of it0 -
You could use a snap on spanner or an Asdas own, it doesn't matter, if that tracking had been done their would be spanner marks on the locking nut and on the track rod itself where it had been adjusted. Pound to a penny says that would be siezed in there too looking at the corrosion on it. No way was that adjusted.0

That was off entirely. Not yesterday, but recently enough.
If I hadn't used penetrating oil, where it's darker, would you even guess?0 -
No, because it's dark.0
