Car finance advice, faulty car!

Hi
To cut a long story short, I had a used car on finance, after taking it back to the dealer a numerous of times because of faults, I decided to get it inspected. They told me that it had been in a serious accident and the repair work was bodged!!
I took it back to the dealer and he agreed to refund me my deposit and cancel the finance agreement. He told me to cancel the standing order and I wouldn't have to pay a penny as it isn't my fault.
I have phoned the finance company and they said they didn't know anything about the agreement being cancelled and have took a payment from my account which has left me seriously overdrawn, which I'm now paying for!!
Any advice would be appreciated as what to do next as the dealer has no said he has no part in it and it's between me and the finance company!
Thanks.

So where is the car now?
Did you get anything in writing from the dealer to say the finance was cancelled OR even a receipt for the car being handed back?
You could be in a sticky situation.0 -
i would pay a visit to the dealer and ask him to give you a reciept for the car dated the day it was taken back and refunded.
then i would politely ask if the dealer could call his clients the finance company to confirm he has taken back the car.0 -
He has gave me back my receipt, he has wrote on it that he has refunded me and the agreement has been cancelled. The car is at his garage, got a funny feeling he will try again to sell it.
Thanks for your replies, starting to worry me now! Going to keep pestering the finance company.0
